DuoPly Water Based Acrylic (WBA) Decking Adhesive is a unique semi pressure sensitive
water based adhesive for bonding DuoPly EPDM membranes to a variety of flat roof substrates, offering superior peel strengths without solvents or strong odours. It is ready for use and non flammable.

This adhesive is designed to be used as a one sided, wet lay in adhesive on flat roof decking surfaces.

Features & Benefits

  • Low or no odour
  • Roller applied to deck substrate
  • Can be used to timber, concrete, tissue faced insultation board, or existing bitument layer*
  • Fast deck coverage, coverage rate of 3-4m² per litre
  • Non flammable

1. The surface of the roof, on or against which the roof deck adhesive is to be applied will be clean, smooth, dry and free of sharp edges, dirt, loose materials, oil and grease.

2. DuoPly WBA will bond the roof membrane to a range of conventional roof surfaces e.g. plwood, OSB, tissue faced PIR/PUR insulation board, concrete and existing bitumous surfaces (Contact Flex-R Ltd., for usage in projects outside of standard specifications)

3. Apply adhesive to the substrate in a uniform manner avoiding globs, puddles and uncoated areas. Avoid heavy or thin application of adhesive.

4. Install the DuoPly membrane into the adhesive whilst the decking adhesive is still wet. Lift the membrane in a few places to ensure the adhesive is transfering to the polyester fleece lining.

5. Push the membrane into the adhesive with a rubber bladed squeegee to remove any trapped air and fully press the polyester fleece into the adhesive.

6. Whilst the roof deck adhesive is wet, clean any over spill of adhesive from membrane EPDM face and splice areas.

7. Cure rates are between 12-72 hours dependant on porosity of the roof substrate and weather conditions.

8. Temporary weighting of the membrane may be necessary until the adhesive cures to address certain problem areas.

1. Review the applicable Material Safety Data Sheet for complete safety information prior to use.

2. Keep container closed when not in use.Use with adequate ventialtion.

3. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting. Contact a doctor immediately.

4. Avoid contact with eyes. Safety glasses or goggles are recommended. If splashed in eyes, immediately flush eyes with water for at least 15 minutes. Contact a doctor immediately.

5. Avoid contact with skin. Wash your hands thoroughly after handling. In case of contact with skin, thoroughly wash affected area with soap and water.

6. Jobsite storage temperatures in excess of 32°C may affect shelf life. DO NOT ALLOW PRODUCT TO FREEZE. DO NOT STORE BELOW 4°C.

7. Do not thin the DuoPly WBA Decking Adhesive. Thinning will affect performance and may coagulate adhesive.

8. Adhesive will turn translucent when dry. Drying time is dependant on the weather conditions. Do not allow adhesive to dry before laying membrane in.

9. This adhesive is to be appied when the ambient temperature is 4°C and rising, Do not apply if the ambient temperature will drop below 0°C before adhesive cures.

10. Once opened the adhesive may form a thick surface skin that will not dissolve. Adhesive can be used once the skinned layer is removed.
